About Auto-Lanka

“Auto Lanka” is one of the most reliable advertising and marketing web sites in Sri Lanka. This is the latest web site version for selling parts, providing technical support for repair of vehicles, meeting buyers for the people who are rent out vehicles and advertisement for selling vehicles.

They advertise ads for new and used vehicles for sale in Sri Lanka. Also this web site provides technical support for customers such as contact mechanic experts in Sri Lanka, garages and accessories shops etc…

Features 

Customers can enter to the web site and review the information on the site. When a customer login to the site he or she can review all the information and can access to any task.  But the customer who is not login to the web site they only can search the information and create ads.

The advertisement section is categorized into three main areas.

1)      Wanted

By using this option customers can post their needs and wants which are relates to the vehicles and parts.

2)      Rent

Customers can create the advertisement in here for the buyer who willing to have the services. If any buyer needs to advertise their rental packages of vehicle this window provide the facilitate to fulfill this requirement.

3)      Sale

Customers can register to the site and they can search any information relates to the any vehicle according to their preferences.

It includes a gallery of vehicles and users can search and view vehicles one by one using slide show and popup the images for better understanding.  Also it provides the contact details page and customers can contact with them by using those information.

Why we select

We select auto-lanka website because of some features need to be improved such as user friendliness, alignments etc...

Script -

We will be asking you to perform ten tasks using Auto-Lanka web site. Follow the tasks below. Complete these tasks as you normally would do them. We are not going to test you, instead of we are testing our web site. If you are unable to figure out a task, Just move on to the next task. This is useful information for improving the usability of our web site.

All that means is that we would like you to talk aloud about what you are thinking while performing the tasks. It will help us understanding your actions better.Relax your self and make comfortable while you are performing your tasks.
Please read the task aloud before doing it. When you are finished with a task, please let us know, so we can move on to the next task. So let's get started.

1) Create your profile to register to the site.
2) Create a new sale ad for a vehicle from your choice. You can create ads with or without log in to the website.
3) Log in to the web site.
4) Search for Nissan Wagon car.
5) Send an e-mail to contact with them
6) Edit your posted ad and increase the price by Rs. 15000
7) Recover the password of your account.
8) Change the user name and password.
9) Add comments for the ads.
10) Go and check the gallery.
11) Check privacy policy & terms of use.

5.      Describe list of features to be improved.

1        Add header bar to indicate popular selling advertisement.

2        Add upcoming offers on the news feed.

3         Change advertisements positions of right side.

4        Add a proper slide show top of the web site.

5         Change the position of search box to the Right Conner.

6         Add subcategories more accurately.

7         Add the effective and efficient search box in order to achieve the usability of customer.

8         Introduction on the home page should be brief and clearly explain about the site. 

9         Gallery and display should present with the most attractive way and it should be shows in automatically. 

10         User can not close the image when it is open. Therefore should provide an option to close the images.

11         Categorized the items of selling by part wise. They only categorized in vehicle wise and it should align to the left side of the window.

12         Mentioned the contact details on the “contact us” page.

13         Adjust and restructure the page alignments in a proper way.

14        Implement the “Terms of Use” and “Privacy Policy” functions.

15        Validate e-mail address when registering to the web site.
